車両をサイバー攻撃から守るため2022年から車両診断機能に制限
2020年6月「自動車基準調和世界フォーラム(WP29)」で、2022年7月以降の新型車においてサイバーセキュリティ対策を講じる事が必須となった。
このサイバーセキュリティ対策により自動車整備で必要となる診断機能にアクセス制限がかかり、先進運転支援システム(ADAS)エーミング作業（補正作業）やオイル交換後などに必要となるサービスインターバルリセットなども出来なくなる。
加えて、2022年以降の国内法施行によりこの流れはさらに加速することが見込まれており、将来的には全ての車両においてセキュリティアクセス権なしでは包括的な診断作業が不可能となる。
ところで車両のサイバーセキュリティ対策は各自動車メーカーにより異なるため、それぞれの車両のアクセス権を取得するには「整備工場自らが自動車メーカー毎に登録、契約を行う必要がある」ことから、整備工場への負担は非常に大きい。
一方で、スキャンツールメーカーによっては、この問題を解決すべく「各自動車メーカーのセキュリティアクセス権を一元管理し整備工場が自動車メーカーごとの契約を行わなくてもセキュリティ保護された診断機能の実行を可能とするサービス」の提供を計画しているところもある。
10月4日（月）からスキャンツール導入補助金がスタートするが、スキャンツールの選定には、機能やカバレッジに加え、この状況へのスキャンツールメーカーの対応状況を確認することも重要だ。
